What's New on our Web Site
For those who are interested in the technical details of our site's evolution, here is
a chronological list of site enhancements.
- April 21, 2000
- Transferred all pages to new web server at MV Communications so that www.lodestar2.com will no longer be an alias to the
user location.
- February 15, 2000
- Updated makefaq and made some changes to the
footer.
- January 2, 2000
- Uploaded makefaq and updated appropriate
software pages
- Adjusted the Gallery so that all pages have a white
background.
- Changed the footer to have 2000 in the copyright.
- Modified the form confirmation page to have a white background and correct information.
- December 20, 1999
- Added the Software section, the Snow Stars, and added more to the Gallery.
- December 19, 1999
- Updated the icons on the main page.
- Set up the Gallery and added more of Lori's artwork to the site.
- Updated the NetEss, 2nd Edition pages and errata.
- Configured the site to order at Amazon through the Associates program.
- October 4, 1999
- Added the icons Lori drew to the home page. Also updated all pages to have the same
background. (Background had been set on some pages using CSS only, which not all browsers
support. Now background is also set in the <BODY> tag.)
- September 5, 1999
- Added the directory for Networking Essentials, Second
Edition. This URL will be listed in the front matter for the new book so that
people can get to the site quickly.
- August, 1999
- Finally made a major update to the site. Completely changed around the home
page, modified the organizational structure, added a whole bunch of new pages, and filled
in all sorts of holes that were in the text.
- November, 1998
- Linked pages to a central source for background colors, since CSS doesn't seem to be
passing color along to version 4 browsers. Changed background to purple.
Removed pages for web design and marketing since those services are being put on hold.
- August 19, 1998
- Added the comments page for the Networking Essentials Exam Guide.
Added indented style to CSS stylesheet.
- July 14, 1998
- Added online ordering capability to Greyhound Greetings
page.
Made minor updates to Networking Essentials errata page.
- July 1, 1998
- Added Channel file (CDF) so users of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 can now subscribe to our site to stay up-to-date on changes.
- Modified CSS stylesheet to format <DT> and <DD> tags.
- Modified footer to include fax number.
- June 8, 1998
- Major site update.
